Finding Your Authentic Path

"Deep in their roots, all flowers keep the light." ~ Theodore Roethke

The last of the lazy, hazy days of summer are upon us. Gardens are in full bloom reminding us that there is no holding back when living an authentic life to the fullest.

Nature has no choice but to do what is natural. Just as the bud must surrender to its own internal code to bloom; we must surrender to the unfolding that is always happening in our lives. While we can't control what happens to us or to those we love, we do have control over our responses and reactions. Our authentic power resides in our ability to choose.

We are all rich in opportunities to exercise choice. We choose hundreds of times a day: what to wear, which route to drive to work, whether to exercise or not, coffee or tea..... We can choose to play it safe for the rest of our lives or we can answer the invitation of our soul to embrace every experience as an opportunity for growth.

Each of us has a unique path to walk on this earth. Many of us spend alot of energy trying to find our path. We search for it and wonder where it could be. Feeling lost is a common experience. Yet, thinking too much, overanalyzing, and intellectualizing keeps us from sensing our path, which is often right under our noses, waiting patiently to be discovered.

Relying on your own internal guide for direction may seem like a daunting responsibility however, by choosing to develop a strong inner ali for guidance and direction you empower yourself.

Like the DNA that makes up our bodies, we all possess a divine imprint and purpose for our lives. We need to trust that, like breathing, our purpose is within our reach.

Begin to look at all of your experiences as important life lessons that serve to bring you further along your authentic path so that you might fulfill your greatest purpose and dreams.

Imagine, for a moment, if we lived in a world where the trees held back their leaves or the sun decided not to rise each morning. We would all experience a very different existence.

This isn't the time for holding back or worrying about the future. I think you would agree that we are experts at that. Now is the time for letting go and remembering what you already know deep in your roots.

Even Though
As often happens following one of the Best Year Yet programs I do, a message emerges for Monday Morning Coach.
