Being Happy

How can one be happy? Is it a tough question? To some it may be but not to all of us.

Happiness is like a ray of sunlight which warms us and keeps us glowing. We can't live without it and if you think that happiness is a word never to be found in your dictionary think again as here are some simple tips on how to usher the ray of elation to your life.

1. Smile

What easier way is there to reach happiness than smiling? A smile a day keeps all nasty feelings away. That's my mantra but you too can follow it. A smile shows others that you are positive and joyful and somehow it brings a glow to you & makes you more approachable to the others.

2. Think Positive

If you are always sad and down thinking you will always be the born loser, brighten up. Thinking postive is something you have to do to keep the happy hormones & vibes around you. So axe away all that pessimistic thoughts!

3. Talk to your pals

Had a bad day at work? You can talk it over with your close buddies. It has been found that those who speak out about their woes and sorrows feel much better than those who keep all the feelings bottled up. Too much stress hurts and drives happiness away. So the next time you feel like your world is crashing hop on over to your friend's place for a cosy chat.

4. Do What You Love

Is there any joy doing what we all dislike? Nope. I agree that not all of us are fortunate to get a job which allows us to do what we love but you can still do what you like in your spare time. Hobbies are one area where you can get much elation doing what you love.

We all can find happiness if we try and work hard. So never say that happiness is a word you can only dream of finding. Go be happy and live a life you want!

The Voiceless
WE count the broken lyres that rest Where the sweet wailing singers slumber, But o'er their silent sister's breast The wild-flowers who will stoop to number? A few can touch the magic string, And noisy Fame is proud to win them: Alas for those that never sing, But die with all their music in them!Nay, grieve not for the dead alone Whose song has told their hearts' sad story,-- Weep for the voiceless, who have known The cross without the crown of glory! Not where Leucadian breezes sweep O'er Sappho's memory-haunted billow, But where the glistening night-dews weep On nameless sorrow's churchyard pillow.O hearts that break and give no sign Save whitening lip and fading tresses, Till Death pours out his longed-for wine Slow-dropped from Misery's crushing presses,-- If singing breath or echoing chord To every hidden pang were given, What endless melodies were poured, As sad as earth, as sweet as heaven!Reflections on 'Voice'My wife and I recently attended a showing of "Rwanda" - an unforgettable and harrowing experience.

Giving Attention To Happiness
When I left England in 2000 there did not seem to be much happiness around. People in modern western society tend to be self focused to the extreme, prone to criticise rather than support or applaud, and with little time or inclination to devote to others.

Happiness - A Choice You Must Make
Over the course of my life's journey I have come to realize that happiness is much more something we must choose then something that simply comes and goes according to random events or obstacles that are thrown our way in life.In the past I found myself under the illusion that if I attained certain goals, or succeeded at certain things then happiness would follow - which in the short term I'll concede that it often did.
In Pursuit of Happiness
In pursuit of happiness, what will we do as women? Whatever we possibly can. We want to do things for ourselves, but always put others before us.
It's Good to be Goofy
To paraphrase a saying my mother liked to use occasionally, "The whole world is goofy - except you and me. And sometimes I'm not too sure about you!"Rest assured that no matter who we are or what we do, there is at least a handful of people somewhere in this world who are convinced that we're not rowing with both oars in the water.
Breaking the Cycle
Breaking the cycle is a term we have all heard. Especially if we come from a family (and these days who doesn't) that has a history of some type of violence and/or drug abuse whereas this phrase is told to us over and over.

Our use of body posture plays a key role in how we feel. When we are feeling "down", our bodies show this by hunching the shoulders, we stare at the floor, our heads hang forward.
Happiness
What is happiness? If we mean by it a state of fulfillment, when everything is going our way, in terms of results as well as efforts (which requires a providential combination of pluck and luck), then it cannot simply be willed; it is partly, if not largely, a gift of fate.Having said this, even this sort of happiness is a product of positive thinking and positive action, with good fortune lending a helping hand.
